Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I just had a hard dental relining done. I cannot wear my dentures because they no longer fit my mouth and are very painful. They have tried adjustments, but they still will not fit. Is it possible to have a hard reline taken off?
My dentures fit, but I needed a relining. I do not know what to do. I cannot go out in public with no teeth.
Kindly help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and can understand your concern.
The dentures being used are ill-fitting and have recently been adjusted with relining for denture seating and adhesion capacity. So, the probable cause can be denture fitting. I suggest you undergo the following tests:
Clinical review.
Phonic sounds evaluation with dentures in place
It can be due to denture fracture and repair, and probable diagnoses are ill-fitting dentures due to regular wear and worn-out retention. I suggest you do the following:
Denture repair with clinical evaluation.
Denture retention in the mouth.
Also, you have to do the follow-up in clinical prosthodontics. A few preventive measures to be taken include:
Replacement with new dentures.
Wear, repair, and phonetics need to be examined.
Kindly consult a specialist doctor, talk with them, and take medications with their consent.
I hope this helps.
Thank you.
