Can antidepressants cause lethargy?
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
l am taking antidepressants such as Escitalopram 10 mg, Clonazepam 0.5 mg, Risperidone 1mg, and Propranolol HCL 10mg. Because of taking this medicine, I feel tired and sleepy all day. What should I do now?
Kindly help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
Thank you for taking help from a psychiatrist. I can understand your situation and your problem. You should take tablet Escitalopram, tablet Clonazepam, and tablet Risperidone at night. If you feel sleepy then you can reduce the dose of the tablet clonazepam 0.5 mg to 0.25 mg. It is used for sleep disturbances. You can also stop tablet Clonazepam if you have no sleep disturbances. Tablet Risperidone is not an antidepressant. It is antipsychotic. If you have only depression then you do not need to take it. You can stop it.
I hope that you get your answer.
Please let me know if you need any help.
Take care.
Thank you.
