What is the treatment for diarrhea and stomach ache since morning?
Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I am a 26-year-old male suffering from diarrhea and stomach ache since morning. I have taken Eldoper and Norflox-TZ but getting no relief from them. The summer is a peak at my place, and I had to roam all day yesterday due to work. I cannot drink or eat as I pass loose and watery motions right after that. I was feeling weak due to the frequent loose motions.
Thanks.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
I have reviewed your case history in detail. This is infective diarrhea. I agreed with the antibiotic Norflox-TZ (Norfloxacin), but it will take time and not provide immediate relief. Acute diarrhea usually takes 24 to 48 hours to settle. I recommend Mebeverine (Lactose monohydrate) 135 mg a half hour before breakfast and dinner for abdominal pain. This is anti-spasmodic and helps to relieve pain in acute diarrhea.
Meanwhile, drink plenty of water, take ORS (oral rehydration solution) one sachet in a liter of water, and at least take one sachet daily till the resolution of loose stools. Take home cooked soft diet. If your symptoms persist for over 36 hours, complete blood profile, CRP (C-reactive protein), and stool should be checked for further evaluation. Consult a specialist doctor and take medications with their consent.
I hope this information will help you.
Thanks.
