Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
My 82-year-old grandmother is suffering from Parkinson's disease. She is taking medicines for it which include Pramirol SR 0.26, Mondo-RT, Syncapone 100, and Pantocid. She is doing well with these medicines. A week before, we consulted a gastroenterologist because she was complaining about stomach pain, who prescribed Ulgel A syrup. She has been suffering from dizziness, headache, and sudden collapse for the past two days. What can be done? Is it due to the Ulgel A syrup? Please advise.
Thank you.
Hi,
Thank you for stopping by!
I am here to provide an expert opinion on your medical issues.
Dizziness, headache, and sudden collapse are very rare with Ulgel A Syrup (Magaldrate 540 mg, Simethicone 50 mg, and Oxetacaine 10 mg). However, they are more common for reasons like perforation, peritonitis (inflammation of the abdomen), obstruction, etc. which can cause stomach pain. The same problem that has caused stomach pain can also cause dizziness, headache, and sudden collapse. This appears like a medical emergency. I advise you to consult a doctor immediately. She needs a clinical examination, abdominal examination, rectal examination, and ultrasound of the abdomen and pelvis. If needed, an endoscopy and CT (computerized tomography) of the abdomen.
I hope this information will help you. Please revert in case of further queries.
Thank you.
