What could cause dizziness when standing or bending?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

For the past six months, I have been experiencing dizziness almost every time I stand or bend over. I initially attributed it to my significant weight loss of over 100 pounds with the help of Mounjaro. In response, I have been focusing on eating and drinking more and monitoring my blood sugar levels, which consistently fall within the normal range.

Additionally, I have noticed that my lips turn very blue shortly after exposure to cold temperatures, even briefly. It is difficult to discern whether my lips are occasionally slightly blue or if I am feeling paranoid. I had a stroke at 23 years old, which adds to my concerns.

Furthermore, I have high blood pressure, though it seems to have improved slightly with the weight loss. Please help.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

Based on your symptoms, you may be experiencing a transient ischemic episode in the brain due to reduced oxygen and blood supply, possibly due to arteriosclerosis caused by fat deposits obstructing blood flow. Considering your medical history (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity) and hypertension (low blood pressure), I suggest the following treatment:

  1. Isosorbide mononitrate and Aspirin 75 mg tablet once daily for one month.

  2. Atorvastatin 10 mg tablet once daily for one month.

Consult your doctor and take medicines accordingly.

I hope this helps.

Please revert in case of further queries.

Thank you.
