Thank you for your query.

I understand your concern. In sore throat-like upper respiratory or pharyngitis-like infections post viral infection, bronchitis-like presentation occurs, and dry cough persists for a few days. Chest X-ray and CBC (complete blood count) can be done. If no other symptoms are present, dextromethorphan, like a cough suppressant, can be taken.
