Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I have dry cough for the last one and a half years. I could not control it with any type of medicine. It comes back once the course of medicine gets over. I had the same issue before 10 years and it resolved after two years of continuous treatment. But, I have lost all the previous medical records of mine. Now, I am on siddha treatment. My TB test was negative. I have got the blood report done and it says normocytic normochromic with macrocytes and ovalocytes.
Please guide me.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
From your description, it appears to be cough variant asthma or chronic bronchitis, and it could be a hyper-reactive disorder. In your complete blood count report, we noticed an elevated eosinophil count, which could be indicative of an eosinophilic disorder. Such a condition may be associated with your current complaints. Additionally, the CBC results suggest the possibility of vitamin B12 and folic acid deficiency.
However, there is no need to worry as both conditions are treatable. To further assess your pulmonary function and gain a comprehensive understanding of your health, we recommend considering a PFT (pulmonary function test) along with sharing your complete blood count report. Early detection and appropriate management can lead to improved outcomes and overall well-being.
I hope this helps.
Thank you.
