Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am 38 years old. I initially developed a lesion on my ankle, and later similar lesions appeared on my wrist and the palm area above the wrist. Each lesion usually takes around two to three weeks to heal, but new ones tend to appear afterward.
Currently, there are no lesions on my wrist or palm, but I still have some on my ankles. The lesions on my ankle appear as small reddish bumps with mild scaling and a few slightly raised spots around the area.
Could you please help me understand what this might be and what I should do?
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read the query and can understand your concern.
I have gone through the photos and details (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity). The image shows small reddish bumps with mild scaling and slightly raised lesions around the ankle region.
Based on the history and the appearance of the lesions, it may be due to a fungal infection (a disease caused by fungi, yeasts, or molds that invade and overgrow in or on the body) or eczema (a chronic, non-contagious inflammatory skin condition characterized by dry, itchy, and rash-prone skin).
Since the lesions are recurrent and take two to three weeks to heal, a direct examination by a doctor is important to confirm the diagnosis and rule out other skin conditions.
Please consult your doctor or dermatologist for further examination and appropriate management.
I hope this answers your query.
Please let me know if I can assist you further.
Thank you.
