Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
My friend was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes two years ago and is experiencing significant emotional and psychological challenges related to her condition. Her recent psychological assessment revealed mild depression and anxiety associated with diabetes management. She is struggling with body image, peer relationships, and the constant need for medical monitoring. Her continuous glucose monitor shows frequent glycemic variability, with HbA1c fluctuating between 8.1 percent and 8.7 percent. We are seeking some support strategies to address both her medical and psychological needs during this developmental stage. Can you please guide this doctor?
Kindly help.
