What could be the cause of a weak erection?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am not sure if I had ED. I am 26 and not very sexually active. But in the past, I have been able to achieve and maintain an erection but not achieve orgasm. Recently, even achieving an erection and maintaining it is almost impossible. Lack of morning erections as well. I also feel like I have lost sensitivity in the area.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern about your symptoms.

According to your complaints, you may be suffering from erectile dysfunction (the inability to achieve or maintain an erection sufficient for sexual intercourse).

Reasons for erectile dysfunction (ED)

  1. Stress due to work, family-related, or night duties: Plan for regular exercise and yoga.

  2. Depression.

  3. Varicocele (enlargement of the veins within the scrotum): An ultrasound of the scrotum can help diagnose.

  4. Fear of failure: Having one episode of ED once may make you feel you will end up with ED.

  5. Low self-esteem (chronic masturbation).

  6. Homosexuality: Not attracted to the same sex.

  7. Religious constraints.

  8. Smoking and alcohol.

  9. Long-term illness: Cardiac disease, thyroid disease, kidney disease, or any other disease with long-term medication.

  10. For simple vitamin deficiency, I would suggest you use a tablet of Zincovit (multivitamins with minerals) and Shelcal (nutritional supplements).

  11. Negative attitude towards your partner.

  12. Hormonal issues: Thyroid issues, low testosterone, and increased prolactin.

  13. Long-term drug usage.

  14. Diabetes (high blood glucose) and hypertension (high blood pressure).

I would suggest you do the following tests:

  1. Doppler penis.

  2. USG (ultrasound sonography) pelvis and scrotum.

  3. Blood pressure.

  4. RBS (random blood sugar).

  5. Free T3 (triiodothyronine) and T4 (thyroxine).

  6. Testosterone.

  7. TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone).

Share more details regarding the above reasons, and we can work on diagnosis and treatment.

You need to plan for regular exercise and a proper diet.

  1. List of exercises: Kegels, squats, yoga, running, or fast walking for five minutes.

  2. Missionary sex possession: Planks, push-ups, mountain climbers, glute bridges.

  3. Standing sex position: Bicep curls, pull-ups, or jump squats.

  4. Doggy style: Jump squats or walking lunges.

  5. Cowgirl or the girl on the top move: Glute bridges or leg raises.

  6. Food: Strawberry, apple, avocado, sweet potato, sesame seed, almond, garlic, and a little chocolate.

For a temporary solution, I would suggest you use a tablet of Mildfil (a phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitor) at 5 mg (milligrams) twice a day.

I suggest you consult your specialist doctor, discuss with him or her, and take the medicines with their consent.

I hope I have answered your question.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards.
