Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have bags under my eyes that won’t go away. I am an 18-year-old and I have noticed this for about I think a year, and I have tried every remedy there is. I just cannot get it to go away, and my eyes always hurt like I have no sleep, but I sleep for about 10 hours a day. I use the screen a lot, but I need help.
Kindly help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and can understand your concern.
I would like you to know that under-eye puffiness can most commonly occur due to a thyroid disorder as well. Another cause is stress, excess screen use, smoking, and even genetics.
I advise you to do the following:
You have to limit your screen use. To do this, you can try to read a book instead of reading on the screen.
Avoid caffeine in excess, especially in the evening hours.
Drink plenty of fluids orally on a daily basis.
Also, kindly follow up with thyroid reports so that we can manage accordingly if diagnosed.
I suggest you do the following tests:
Complete blood count (CBC).
Thyroid function test (to be done after 10-12 hours of fasting).
Kindly consult a specialist doctor, talk with them, and take medications with their consent.
I hope this helps.
Thank you.
