Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have eye floaters for many years. But for the past couple of days, I have been facing a problem in my eyes.
Please help.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
It seems you are seeing flashes of light. They are commonly seen in posterior vitreous detachment and also can be a sign of early retinal detachment. I would suggest you visit a specialist and get dilated so that your retina can be examined thoroughly.
I hope this helps.
Thanks and regards.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Thanks for your reply.
Will I require surgery? Can this be cured with medication?
Please help.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
If it is a PVD (peripheral vascular disease), then nothing needs to be done. Only medications will be sufficient. But if it is a retinal detachment, then a laser or surgery is required. Do not panic. It is better you see a retina specialist.
I hope this helps.
Thanks and regards.
