Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
How do I know if my fallopian tubes are blocked? I recently had a chemical pregnancy till five weeks and I started bleeding after that. I felt a pain on my left ovary or fallopian tube side and then in the evening, I started bleeding. The following month I felt the same type of pain six days past ovulation and I suspected an attempt of implantation because when I tested pregnancy I got the faintest line ever but it was there and then the next day the line was gone and got a period six days later. I am worried that my left tube might be blocked. Could it be because I had a c-section two and a half years ago with my first and only child? Kindly suggest.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I have gone through your history and understand your concerns. You can go for HSG (hysterosalpingography) to rule out any tubal blockage. You can go for a pelvic ultrasound to see the other causes of your symptoms. It could be due to an ovarian cyst also. A faint positive line could be due to an evaporation line, as you have proper menses there is no chance of pregnancy in your case. I hope you find this useful.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Thank you. What other option do I have for checking my fallopian tube? I heard the HSG is very painful. Is there any other alternative?
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
You can go for an ultrasound pelvis but we can not see the tube properly in that. You have to do an HSG test under mild anesthesia. You will not feel pain.
I hope this helps you.
Thank you.
