Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am a 32-year-old woman. A week before, I could feel a small lump in my right breast. So I was worried and got that checked, the doctor suggested mammography. The reports showed that the lump is 1.2 cm, the doctor said it does not require any treatment, however, it should be monitored every 6 months. Now I am really worried about this and want to get rid of this. Is there any way to decrease the lump size or remove that completely? Will surgery cause any complications? Please help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I can understand your concern.
This can be a fibroadenoma, so it is not harmful, but it must be examined timely manner to watch for progress. There is no medicine to reduce it. You can opt for surgical intervention, in which a day care procedure followed by a histopathological examination of tissue shall be sent. Complications can be there, like scar formation, minor hemorrhage, and infection. But they are not major complications. These lumps are recurrent.
I hope this helps you.
Thank you.
