Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I am 24 years old, taking asthma inhalers. I am having chronic shin splints when I was on my feet more frequently doing yard work. I am not an athlete. It started as mild pain after six or seven hours of work but has progressed drastically to the point that I cannot be on my feet for more than 10 to 15 minutes without pain severe enough to make me dizzy. My shin bones are extremely bumpy. I physically cannot stay on my feet longer than 15 minutes without collapsing. I tried ice and rest, new footwear, compression bandages, and taping my shins. I started the gym six months ago trying to strengthen leg muscles but no progress so far pain wise. Please help.
Thanks.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
These symptoms indicate that you might have vitamin and hormone deficiencies. And yes, definitely this condition is treatable so do not worry. I will suggest you do a few tests such as CBC (complete blood count), vitamin D3, calcium, and TFT (thyroid function test). I will check and let you know. Have you ever been diagnosed with thyroid disease? Please answer so I can prescribe you medicine accordingly
I hope this information will help you.
Thank you.
