Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am 22 years old. I am unable to retract my foreskin in both flaccid and erect state. Please suggest.

Answered by Dr. Niveditha. S.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

  • How long have you been having this problem? Is there any swelling or redness in that area?
  • For internal lubrication, 1 teaspoon or 5 mL of melted Ashwagandha ghrita, a medicated ghee, in empty stomach in the morning daily. After taking this take a cup of warm water. Use it every day for three months.
  • Externally apply warm Ksheerabala oil, an ayurveda medicine for lubrication to the penis and massage for five minutes and have a warm water bath.
  • Practice the above recommendations for three months.
  • If however there is any swelling, pain or redness, then visit a doctor in person immediately.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

After applying oil, should I try to pull the foreskin back? Or Should I just rub it and pull it from the side? I am a bit confused.

Answered by Dr. Niveditha. S.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

  • Yes, you should try and pull the foreskin back. That is the reason I have prescribed the oil. It will ease the retraction.
  • You can even apply the oil on the glans after retraction.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

How many days will it take to get normal? Through this, can I avoid circumcision?

Answered by Dr. Niveditha. S.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

  • It may take about two to three months. If this works, then certainly you need not go for circumcision.
  • The action of medications is different for different individuals. So, I may not be able to give you guarantee, but hope for the best.
