Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have a fungal infection on my forehead. I am taking tablets Terbinafine 250 milligrams and Itraconazole 200 milligrams twice daily, and Salicylic acid twice a day topically. But these medicines are not working. What to do?

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I went through your query and understood your concern.

It seems you are on a higher dose of antifungal medications than required. You either take the tablet Terbinafine (antifungal) or Itraconazole (antifungal). Moreover, these two antifungals have slightly different roles in managing different types of fungal infections. So, I suggest you share a few pictures of the cutaneous lesion. Therefore, I suggest you apply Clotrimazole (antifungal) cream twice daily.

Kindly consult a specialist, talk with them, and take medicines with their consent.

I hope this has helped you.

Thanks and regards.
