Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
My doctor suggested Kojiglo facewash and Sunheal gel sunscreen along with my prescribed medicines for PV (versicolor on face). I am 26 years old. Please suggest a budget-friendly substitute for Kojiglo face wash and Sunheal.
Thanks.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I can understand your concern.
Since your versicolor is still settling, it is best to avoid whitening or brightening face washes for now, including those containing kojic acid, glycolic acid, or multiple actives, as they can irritate the skin and worsen dryness or scaling.
Instead, during the treatment phase, you can safely use a Ketoconazole 2 % shampoo (such as Ketonol 2 %) as a face wash once daily for about two weeks. You can apply a small amount on wet skin, gently massage, leave it on for one to two minutes, and then rinse. This works well as an antifungal cleanser and supports the treatment your doctor has already prescribed.
Alternatively, if your skin feels sensitive or dry, you may use a simple, gentle face wash, which are affordable and safe option during active infection.
Once the versicolor has cleared, and only then, you may switch to a mild brightening face wash if needed.
For sunscreen, use SPF (sun protection factor) 50, all of which are more economical and suitable for daily facial use.
Apply sunscreen every morning and reapply if you are outdoors. I hope it helped with your query. Feel free to ask any questions you have in mind. I would be happy to guide you. Please give your valuable feedback for better patient care, and I wish you a happy healing.
I hope this information will help you.
Thanks.
