Hello doctor,
I have had a genital herpes outbreak for the last six days, but there are no visible lesions or bumps. But now my vaginal area is swollen, hot to touch, and very sensitive and painful. I have a little more discharge than usual, which makes me wonder if this has turned into a yeast infection. Previously I had a history of outbreak of HSV-1 in the genital area. Currently I am on medication Acyclovir and Blisovi 24 Fe. An abnormal pap test revealed HPV and a right ovarian cyst. Please advise.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
You are experiencing more vaginal discharge, and a swollen, and hot vagina. I suggest you do the following:
1. It is better to have high vaginal discharge to check the type of vaginal infection.
2. Follow strict local hygeine.
3. Use soft comfortable undergarments.
4. Use condoms to reduce transmission of sexually transmitted disease.
5. You can sit in warm water to reduce pain.
6. Take tablet Ponstan (Mefenamic acid) 500 mg eight hourly as per need.
7. Tablet Doxycycline 100 mg eight hourly for seven days.
Collect the vaginal swab report and discuss it here or with your local gynecologist.
I hope you get my point.
Thank you.
