Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My genital area feels warm, and I also have occasional pain. But there is no discharge and no burning when urinating. What should I do?

Answered by Dr. Madhav Tiwari

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern. Please help me with a few details so that we can get to the bottom of your concerns: Are you diabetic or have any other health issues? Are you sexually active or masturbating regularly? Is there any pain after ejaculation? Does the area between your testicles and anus hurt? Do you have difficulty passing urine, such as straining to pee, urgency, or feeling incomplete emptying? Have you had any surgeries in the past? The symptoms you described point towards prostatitis, which is quite common amongst men in your age group.

Please revert with the details, and I will do my best to assist you.

Hope this helps.

Thanks and take care.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for your reply.

I was diagnosed with prostatitis a while ago and have been treated. I have been told my prostate is still a bit swollen after treatment. I am sexually active, and I masturbate regularly. Yes, it burns between the testicles and the anus. But I do not have any other health issues. No issues passing urine also. I had protected sex a week ago after consuming alcohol. Presently I have a fever, body aches, nausea, and stomach pain. Can it be another ailment? Are prostatitis and STD associated?

Answered by Dr. Madhav Tiwari

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern. Fever, body aches, and stomach aches are not associated with prostatitis. For those concerns, I suggest you consult a general physician or gastroenterologist. As far as prostatitis is concerned, it can be tricky to overcome. The treatment is prolonged, but patients can have relapses. I suggest you take these medications for three months; this will benefit you. Tablet Tamsulosin 0.4 mg daily at night (will cause dizziness and low blood pressure at night, this stops after the first dose, so walk with support if you wake up the first night to go to the bathroom), tablet Cranpac D twice daily, and tablet Econorm 250 mg twice daily. In addition to this: Tablet Chyromal Forte twice daily for a month, and capsule Doxycycline 100 mg twice daily for a month. However, please consult a physician, discuss with them, and start taking the medications with their consent. Avoid sitting for prolonged periods (get up every one to two hours for a bit). Drink at least 0.79 gallons of water per day. Engage in intercourse or masturbation at least twice a week. Avoid smoking or excess alcohol (if you do either of those). Please review with me after one month to inform me of any improvements.

Hope this helps.

Thanks and take care.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
