Hello doctor,

I have gum recession in my lower front tooth, and my dentist advised against gum grafting. What are the alternatives or options available to address this issue? Kindly let me know.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Please go for extraction followed by fixed dental prosthesis placement after 15 to 20 days. Splinting with root canal treatment can be done but the prognosis seems questionable so please go by my instructions.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I cannot understand. Please help me.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

See, the tooth is mobile, so probably splinting with RCT will not be so successful for further prognosis. So I am saying, please go for extraction (removal of the tooth) followed by replacement with an artificial tooth. Till that process, please have the application of a desensitizing toothpaste for immediate relief from hypersensitivity. Apply thermal twice a day over the involved tooth. The artificial tooth should be fixed with a partial denture, not removable or implanted.

Please ask if there is still any confusion regarding this.

Thank you.
