Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have been diagnosed with Globus and my throat and sinuses do not seem fine. I have seizures, and I feel like I have been poisoned after I had a drink with sore bones and blood. But I think it could be eagle syndrome.

Please help me. Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for writing and I understand your concern.

Actually, eagle syndrome and Globus both are different. Eagle is more painful and pain is more towards the jaws rather than in the throat, but in Globus, pain and discomfort are more likely to be in the neck region.

I suggest you do medical tests now which include endoscopic examination, x-rays, and physical assessment. So I would suggest you consult an ENT specialist. They will check your throat and let you know if you have Globus or not.

  1. Do you have pain or discomfort in your neck?
  2. Do you have pain in the jaw?
  3. What symptoms do you have currently?
  4. Are you taking any medicine currently?

Please let me know so I can prescribe you medicine accordingly.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hi Doctor, thank you so much for your reply.

I do feel a bit of pain in my jaws but it is mostly in my throat. And my head feels hot like it is burnt and the natural flow of my body through my throat seems to be stopped. If I was ever to smoke drugs I will have an extremely bad seizure. My doctor said it was Globus, I have not told him yet about the other things and the fact I thought it could be Eagles syndrome. It says on the internet in rare cases Globus can lead to eagle syndrome, I am not sure it is eagle syndrome but I am sure it is more than just Globus.

My bones and blood feel sore all the time and my sinuses feel like something painful is radiating even more after having a drink. I am sure it is Globus as diagnosed but if it is not eagles syndrome could it be something related to this? I also read there are different types of eagle syndrome. I just want to know exactly what it is so I can do something because I am sure there must be a way to treat it.

Please help me. Thank you.

Hi.

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Thank you for the quick response and I understand your concern.

As I mentioned eagle syndrome is more painful because the pain is associated with nerves so it is a very painful condition. And Globus is a normal kind of situation. Actually, you might have Globus with recurrent sore throat infections which is why you feel pain.

Do not worry it can be treated with medications, if medications fail then we can go for surgery, so definitely there are treatment options for such pain and both diseases.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
