Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am suffering from hair shedding. It is not genetic and has no pattern as well as no balding. No visible change in density. It just looks damaged, rough, too oily scalp and losing a little hair when I pull hair or comb. Also happens from back and sides. Hair comes out by simply pulling them.

Thanks.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for the reply.

No bald patches. Full heavy hair like before. No inflammation or swelling. No pain or any stress or anxiety. Normal like everyone else in day to day life along with a bad sleeping or waking up schedule since last 2 months. This is the first time this has happened. I can not pay multiple times to chat. So I am adding a complete timeline with all details and a photo so you can come to a final conclusion. Here is the timeline.

I had heavy dandruff 4 to 5 months ago. I took care of that. Then it was better. Now after that, 30 days ago I was normally going through my hair and saw hair in my hands. Everytime I tried it I got three to four hairs. I think it should be fine as we normally shed 50-100 hairs daily. Maybe I am overthinking. I do not know. Hair only comes out if I pull a little hard. Also small hair also comes out if I try pulling from the back or sides. Even though my hair does not look less dense or light. Also, nowadays my scalp is very oily as well. The next day after hair wash all hair gets oily without applying any oil. So last month I got an online consultation where the doctor said it is pityriasis simplex and prescribed me Danclear (Ketoconazole) shampoo to treat if there is any infection. I have been doing it and I have no dandruff at all now. But I am not convinced by that diagnosis. So I need your view as well. Nobody in my family ever had hair fall so no genetics. I never applied any harsh products.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I read and understand your concern.

It appears to be Pityriasis sicca or Telogen effluvium due to stress, possible nutritional deficiency, insufficient protein intake, hair procedures, styling, or coloring.

  1. Wash scalp with shampoo twice weekly for six weeks.

  2. Increase protein intake in your diet.

  3. Eat more greens.

  4. Tablet Androanagen (pumpkin seed oil) once a day after breakfast for 30 days.

  5. Avoid stress and make yourself stress free as stress is a big contributing factor.

  6. Avoid hairstyles, procedures, or use of hair dryers.

  7. Wash scalp with lukewarm water.

  8. Avoid hot shower baths.

  9. Hibiscus or onion juice extract can be massaged over the scalp.

  10. Nutrition is key to healthy hair.

  11. Eat healthy food rich in vitamins, iron, zinc, and biotin.

  12. Attach a clinical image to assess scalp hair density and type of hair loss, so it can guide you.

Regards.

Looking forward to your response in order to help you.

Thank you.
