What can cause hair loss and extreme fatigue?
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have been losing a lot of hair and feeling fatigued lately. My doctor ran some tests and told me my vitamin D levels were deficient. They gave me some supplements. Is vitamin D deficiency important? I am still trying to understand how serious this is and what I can do about it. Are there any specific foods to boost my vitamin D levels? I know sunlight helps, but with my schedule, it is tough to get outside enough. What to do?
Please help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I went through your query and understood your concern.
I think you must look for other causes for the same. Vit D deficiency is not enough to explain the symptoms. So, I suggest you do additional tests.
1. Complete blood count.
2. Serum bilirubin.
3. Serum proteins.
4. Thyroid function tests.
5. Liver function tests.
6. Hemoglobin A1C test.
7. Antinuclear antibody test.
8. Anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide (anti-CCP) antibody test.
Kindly update us with the test results.
I hope this helps.
Thank you.
