Hello doctor,

I am a 22-year-old boy, and my hair fall has become very severe. From the front, I have started to look bald, and my hairline has receded quite a lot. I am very worried about this hair loss.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have gone through your query and understand your concern.

I understand how distressing and frightening severe hair loss can be at such a young age. Watching your hairline recede can significantly impact your confidence and cause considerable anxiety, and your concern is entirely valid.

Based on the history and pattern you have described, this presentation is most consistent with androgenetic alopecia (male pattern hair loss), which commonly starts at the front hairline and temples in young males and can progress rapidly at this stage of life. Early treatment is essential to slow further loss and promote the regrowth of miniaturized hairs.

You should start using the Minoxidil five percent spray. Apply 1 mL (six to eight sprays) twice daily directly to the scalp, especially the affected frontal scalp and hairline. Apply it to a dry scalp, gently spreading it with your fingertips. Avoid washing your hair for at least four hours after application. Initial shedding may occur in the first six to eight weeks. This is expected and indicates a response; therefore, treatment should be continued consistently for at least four to six months to assess the results.

Use Euthrix DF shampoo (Zinc pyrithione and Piroctone olamine) twice a week. Apply to the scalp, gently massage, and leave on for three to five minutes. Then, rinse. This helps control dandruff, inflammation, and scalp conditions that can worsen hair fall. On non-medicated days, use a mild regular shampoo.

Take one capsule Euthrix (Levothyroxine sodium) daily after food. This supplement supports hair growth by addressing nutritional deficiencies and enhancing hair shaft strength, but it is most effective when used as an adjunct, not alone.

Hair regrowth is a slow process, and regular, long-term use is essential. Stopping Minoxidil will lead to the loss of any regrown hair. Avoid excessive oiling, harsh styling, frequent heat use, and tight hairstyles. Manage stress and ensure adequate sleep and protein intake to maintain overall well-being.

If hair fall continues to progress even after two months, you may need to undergo PRP (platelet-rich plasma) treatment every month or consider adding finasteride after proper counseling.

I hope I have answered your question.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Thank you.
