Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Why do I get weird headaches, sometimes pinprick sensation, sometimes my eyes ache after waking from a day nap or morning, and sometimes stress head? I do not have any ENT issues. Please advise.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com

I read your query and understand your concern. Unfortunately, your description of your headache is brief, and more data is needed to give you a better possible diagnosis. For example, I need to know:

1. How long does each episode of your headache take?

2. Does it decrease spontaneously or do you need to take painkillers?

3. What is the frequency of such headaches? (daily, weekly, or other types)

4. Is it accompanied by other symptoms such as nausea or vomiting, sensitivity, or intolerance to light or sounds?

5. Is there a history of chronic headaches in your family?

6. Do you have notable snoring during sleep?

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My sincere apology for the incomplete information. The nature of headache is it comes after every two to three months. It is very mild so I do not take medicines. Sometimes yes Paracetamol 500 mg. But I found that ineffective then put some balm. There are no other symptoms like nausea or sensitivity to light or sound. It is related to an eye ache. It actually starts from an eye ache. Yes, snoring is there. I have observed that when I concentrate during episodes of headaches I get a little irritated. Then I leave that. Please advise.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com

The nature of your headache, especially its tendency to involve the eye, is suggestive of a migraine-type headache. However, your intraocular pressure must be checked by an ophthalmologist, as increased eye pressure can also cause a similar headache. Moreover, if only one eye, always on one side, is involved, a brain MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) and MRA (MR angiography) are recommended. Finally, considering its mild degree and low frequency, no regular daily treatment is needed, and you can use OTC (over-the-counter) analgesic drugs per need. I hope I have cleared all doubts.

Thank you.
