Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I recently experienced sudden hearing loss and began treatment with injections. However, after two days of treatment, I noticed that I was unable to feel the right side of my face. Could this be related to the treatment or the underlying condition?
Kindly suggest.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
Regarding your symptoms, I believe you have developed a disease called trigeminal neuralgia, which is a painful episode on the part of the face affecting the ear, which is aggravated following an injection. This could be caused by an infection in the ear called otitis media. Please do an ear swab test, and EMG (electromyography) test and reply to me with the result. Please take two tablets of Co-Amoxiclav (Augmentin) 625 mg twice for two weeks and two tablets of Metronidazole 400 mg thrice for two weeks. Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with him or her, and take the medicines with their consent.
I hope this helps.
Let me know if you have any other concerns.
Thank you.
