Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been on medication for heart failure for some time, and my doctor is suggesting a trial with the tablet Entresto. Can you provide information on what to expect during the transition to Entresto, including any potential side effects or adjustments to my daily routine? How quickly does Entresto typically show improvements in heart failure symptoms? Kindly let me know.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I appreciate the confidence that you place in me for your healthcare consultation.

The tablet Sacubitril and Valsartan (Entresto) is a relatively new drug. It has more mortality benefits than Enalapril. If you are taking an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor, then stop that for 36 hours and then start taking the tablet Sacubitril and Valsartan (Entresto). If you are taking angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs), then stop it, and with the next dose the tablet Sacubitril and Valsartan (Entresto). The recommended dosage is 50 mg twice a day followed by a gradual titration. Side effects include increased potassium in the blood, allergic reactions, and angioedema.

I wish you good health.

Thank you.
