Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have heavy bleeding during periods due to adenomyosis.

Please check my reports attached and advise.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

I reviewed your attached reports (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity).

  1. Your liver profile, kidney profile, and urine analysis reports are normal. However, your cholesterol value is borderline high.
  2. Your cardiac stress test was also positive. So, I suggest you change your lifestyle and take a healthier diet. Regular mild to moderate physical activity is also helpful. I suggest you visit a cardiologist for your examination and discuss the need for coronary angiography.
  3. Your complete blood count report shows that your hemoglobin level and blood indices are also lower. So, I suppose it is microcytic hypochromic anemia. However, the cause of anemia is probably seen in iron-deficiency anemia due to bleeding by adenomyosis.
  4. I also suggest you consult a gynecologist to manage adenomyosis and decrease bleeding.

I hope this helps.

Thank you and take care.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for the reply.

My platelet count is high. Can you please advise what can be done?

And regarding cardiac stress test positive, last year, the same result was obtained. So I underwent an echocardiogram stress test, and the doctor said it was fine and there was no need for coronary angiography.

Kindly advise me on the high platelet count.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

Your high platelet count is due to bleeding probably. Secondary platelet elevation can occur in case of bleeding and anemia, which is known as secondary thrombocytosis. The platelet count will fall once your bleeding is controlled.

I hope this helps.

Thank you and take care.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
