How can one get rid of heel pain?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am having pain in my left heel. I thought it was a splinter, so I picked it. It became calloused and dry. It is still painful and looks like a crater.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I just read your query. I can understand your concern.

This is a small ulcer that needs to be taken care of, or else it will not heal. You need to wear socks and always walk with silicon heels or soles inserted into your shoes. Keep it clean and clean it with normal saline twice daily so that it does not get infected. Try resting and avoid walking as much as you can. I suggest you take the following medicines after consulting with your treating physician:

  1. Tablet Vitamin C (Ascorbic acid) 500 mg 30 days after food,

  2. Calcium tablet 500 mg 30 days before food.

  3. Tablet Vitamin D (Cholecalciferol) once daily for ten days, after that, once a month for eleven months.

You can take all these tablets only if you are not allergic to them. Do not take these tablets if you have a known case of bronchial asthma. Please let me know in case of any untoward reactions.

I hope I have answered your questions.

Thank you.

Regards.
