How to increase height in a 16-year-old?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My son is 16 years old, and his height (4 feet 11 inches) is not increasing. My height is 5 feet 3 inches, and his father's height is 5 feet 6 inches.

Please help me.

Thanks.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com

You need not worry too much, taking stress about this is only going to cause you more mental tension or anxiety regarding the same. Your son is in the phase of growth spurt until he turns 18 years old, so height usually depends on genetics and the individual body composition. So I would advise him to eat more protein, especially vegan protein, and heart-healthy fats that can promote more muscle mass and endurance, in these growing years (the next two years).

Reply to me if you have more concerns or questions.

I hope this information helps you.

Thank you.
