Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

A relative of mine recently got diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma, and I am trying to wrap my head around it. Can you break down the prognosis for her? She is in her early 40s, and her health has been fairly routine until now. What are the chances of overcoming this, and what kind of journey can we expect for her? I have read some things online, but it is a bit overwhelming, and I would appreciate your straightforward take on it. Any insights you can share in simple terms would help her navigate this. Kindly give your suggestions.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

We cannot say about the prognosis because it depends on the progression of the disease if it is in a very late stage then the prognosis is poor but if she has good control of the Hodgkin’s lymphoma then the prognosis is better so we should go through screening test regularly to check if it is spreading or not and she should receive complete treatment as per advice. If you can send me her reports of pet scan then I can tell you about the prognosis more specifically. Please attach reports if you have them. Also, did she receive chemotherapy and radiation therapy please let me know. I hope you find this helpful.

Thank you.
