Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have gum lesions that are painless and appeared several weeks ago. I also have a history of genital HPV. The lesions appeared two weeks ago and are present on both the upper and lower gums. They are painless. However, I currently also have spots on my tonsils and fauces, along with tonsillitis. I was on TCA for the treatment of genital HPV.
Kindly help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and understood your concern.
Possible benign conditions are as follows:
Cysts: Dental cysts can form around the roots of teeth and may be asymptomatic until they become infected.
Fibromas: Round, smooth, firm lumps caused by irritation or trauma.
Pyogenic granuloma: A rapidly growing, red, and often ulcerated lesion, usually caused by trauma or irritation.
Angiogranuloma: These vascular lesions can appear as nodular gingival enlargements.
Mucocele: Soft swellings caused by mucin spillage from a ruptured salivary gland duct.
Tori: Bony overgrowths, usually on the palate or tongue, are benign but can sometimes cause irritation.
Erythema multiforme: A skin and mucosal disease with various presentations, including oral ulcers, some of which can be painless.
I hope this helps.
Please let us know if you have any further queries. We would be happy to answer.
