Is there a way to reduce dark patches on the face, cheeks, neck, armpits and inner thighs?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have dark patches on my cheeks, neck, armpits, and inner thighs. Also, I have dark spots on my face. These dark patches have appeared suddenly. I used to play a lot in the sun, but there were no dark patches then. I have tried using lemon, aloe, and various soaps, but nothing seems to work. Is it possible to get my clear skin back?

Kindly advise.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

There can be many reasons for hyperpigmentation. It can occur due to diabetes, obesity, or eczema. Home remedies do not work for hyperpigmentation; sometimes, they may deepen the pigmentation. I suggest you reduce your weight if you are obese. Also, you can apply Hydrocortisone cream for two to three weeks and look for any changes. (Consult a specialist doctor, talk to him or her, and start the medicine with their consent).

I hope this helps.

Thank you.
