Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I want to know if Lonopin injection can be used before IVF (in vitro fertilization) embryo transfer and if laser hatching and blastocyst can be used together with the donor egg. I am advised to use ED and OD at a time in IVF. Is that right, or am I misguided? Kindly suggest.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

Lonopin is low molecular weight heparin. Some centers advise this, as a blood thinner or in other words to improve the vascular or blood connections between mother and baby. It also prevents the rejection of the baby by the mother's body. Laser hatching is a method of using laser waves and thinning out or burning and making the outer coat of the embryo (zona pellucida) softer and thereby more susceptible to implantation. A thick zona is one of the causes of implantation failure. Normally this layer has to thin out on its own when it comes in contact with the inner lining of the uterus. This can be done for the blastocyst, so the chances of blastocyst implantation are very high. Blastocyst is better than eight-cell embryo implantation. The uterus does not know if this is the self of the donor egg. In ladies aged 41 years, they will try to overcome all possible causes of rejection.

Does ED mean donor embryo and OD mean oocyte? Please check the abbreviation as we do not use that here. They can be used in the same sitting. Their phase of growth has to be the same, meaning two embryos of six to eight cells can be used, and not one eight-cell & another blastocyst.

I hope this information will help you.

Thank you.
