How to get rid of itching and skin rash?
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I stayed in a hostel and as far as I know, due to bed bugs, my skin started having an itching sensation. If I rub in that area rashes start appearing. My skin is quite sensitive from the beginning. Can you suggest what can I do to get rid of this itching and skin rash?
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I do understand your concern.
It appears to be an itch mite hypersensitivity reaction (scabies). I would suggest the following treatment:
- Apply 5 percent Permethrin cream at night on day one and day seven (apply below the neck, all over the body, contact period 8 to 12 hours).
- Apply at night on day one and day seven (wash off the next morning).
- Repeat in the next week also.
- Apply Fucibet (Fusidic acid and Betamethasone) cream at night for 10 days.
- Use Permite BB (Elestab) bar or Cetrimide soap for bath for two months.
- Tablet Atarax (Hydroxyzine) 10 mg twice daily after food for seven days.
- Avoid scratching and rubbing of lesions.
- Maintain proper hygiene as hygiene plays a very important role.
- Wash clothes separately in hot water. Dry inside out in the sun and iron them.
- Change pillows, bed linens, and sheets every alternate day.
- Avoid sharing personal belongings.
Follow up after two months.
I hope this helps.
Thank you.
Regards.
