Kidney Inflation

Hydronephrosis is when swelling happens in one or both kidneys when the urine cannot drain out from the kidney to the bladder and builds up in the kidneys. Symptoms may include pain in one or both sides, fever, painful urination, frequent urination, or nausea. Treatment involves placing a stent or tube through the bladder and ureter to allow urine to flow easily from the kidney into the bladder.
