Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am 21 years old. My weight is 121 pounds, and my height is 5 feet. I wanted to ask why my legs stiffen or suddenly stop when I go the stairs or try running. I was told that I had slow development when I was young, but I never went to the doctor for it, and I wanted to know if there was treatment. So I could run normally or go by the stairs normally without my legs stopping halfway. When I go up the stairs, my legs start to get stiff and numb, and by the second stair, it just stops. Even if I tried going on the third one, my legs cannot take it, and I go very slowly on it because it will not let me go any faster.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I have gone through your complaints.
Before approaching your case, I would like to know how long have you been having this problem. Is there any history of trauma or disease of prolonged duration?
Such symptoms can be seen in the following conditions:
1. Deficiency of micronutrients like vitamin B12, vitamin D, calcium, and iron.
2. Low blood sugar levels.
3. Dehydration and inadequate sleep.
4. Thyroid hormone imbalance.
5. Stress.
6. Neuropathy (nerve involvement).
I would suggest you consult a physician and have yourself examined physically. Also, you need to carry out a few tests based on the above guidelines to confirm the cause. Treatment will proceed accordingly.
Hope this answers your query.
Thanks.
