Laryngopharyngeal reflux is a medical condition in which the stomach contents reflux back into the esophagus and the throat. Sore throat, hoarse voice, and throat irritation are common symptoms of this condition. Following a bland diet, eating food two hours before bedtime, and avoiding smoking and alcohol can prevent laryngopharyngeal reflux.
