Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have had a lump in my throat for about two to three days. It may be laryngopharyngeal reflux because I went to lie down after eating like twice. Should I get it checked out, or will it go away if I take preventive measures?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern. If suppose it is laryngopharyngeal reflux, try conservative measures. If it does not improve or worsen, we may do a laryngoscopy to check the throat. I would suggest you the following. 1. Eat regularly, in smaller quantities, at more frequent intervals. 2. Avoid spicy, oily, and masala foods. 3. Do not lie down after meals. 4. Do some exercise daily. 5. After the meals go for a walk for about half-hour. 6. Drink plenty of water but not immediately after meals. I hope this helps. Thank you and take care.
