Malassezia folliculitis, also called pityrosporum folliculitis, is a skin disorder caused by Malassezia yeast. It commonly occurs in young adult males. It occurs due to excessive sweating in the body, humid climate, and increased sebum production. This condition presents with itchy papules and pustules in the affected region. Topical treatments are given with Selenium sulfide shampoo and topical Ketoconazole. Fluconazole is taken orally to get relief.
