Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

How to increase the FL and HL in a fetus, when lagging behind about two to three weeks in the third trimester? Is it a major problem? Please suggest the treatment.

Answered by Dr. Megha Tuli

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. It is normal for certain parameters to lag behind the gestational age of three to four weeks in the third trimester. There is no way to increase these parameter bits and there is no need to worry. These are just measurements and are subject to errors. The total gestational age as such is important and a slight variation in individual parameters does not need any treatment or medical intervention. Thank you and take care.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

I came to know that FL and HL growth may be enhanced by taking more rest. Is it right? Please specify the rest in hours for a pregnant woman in their 37th week.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com. It is a false notion that rest increases these parameters. It is like saying that if the mother rests then the baby will fatten up. That is not true. It does not work out like that. I would suggest that do not worry so much for this. I am very sure that your baby is absolutely fine and will be absolutely healthy and beautiful. The discrepancy you mentioned is a mechanical error. Two to three weeks difference is expected in some parameters and it is fine. Thank you and take care.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
