Patient's Query
Hello, Doctor,
I am a female with a height of 5 feet 7 inches and weighing 64 kilograms. One week after my period, I had another period. Also, I am having brown discharge this time. This is the first time anything like this has happened. Please tell me, why is this happening?
Kindly help.
Having bleeding again one week after your normal period with continuous brown discharge can happen for several reasons. In many women, brown discharge means old blood coming out slowly from the uterus.
Possible causes that can lead to this are,
Ovulation bleeding (common and usually light).
Hormonal imbalance or stress.
Irregular cycle for the first time.
Pregnancy-related spotting if sexually active.
Infection of the cervix or vagina.
Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS).
Thyroid or hormonal problems.
Sometimes, side effects of emergency pills or contraceptives.
Your height is normal, and your weight is within a healthy range. I think it can be due to a temporary hormonal imbalance or ovulation spotting.
You should do the following things,
Pregnancy test if there is any chance of pregnancy
Observe if bleeding stops within a few days
Avoid stress and maintain proper sleep and nutrition
Keep track of the next menstrual cycle
Please see a gynecologist if you notice the following symptoms,
Bleeding becomes heavy.
Severe pelvic pain occurs.
Bad-smelling discharge, itching, or fever develops.
Bleeding continues for more than two weeks.
This repeats in future cycles.
I hope this information helps you.

Thank you.
