Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My girl friend got her periods with a delay of four days. Bleeding was normal (red color blood) for the first two days, and later on, it stopped for a day and dark brown color bleeding occured the next day. We did not have sexual intercourse last month. We are concerned about the reason and want to know if there is a chance of pregnanacy. Is this a major issue if menstrual bleeding occurs and stops abruptly? Kindly help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I am here to help with your health queries.

Irregular bleeding can be due to hormonal imbalance leading to an anovulatory cycle.

I suggest you follow the below-mentioned instructions:

  1. Get pelvic ultrasound to check the endometrial thickness.
  2. Get thyroid profile and hemoglobin checked.
  3. For excessive bleeding you can use medication.
  4. Consume high protein diet and lots of vegetables and fruits.
  5. Also take iron and calcium supplements.

There is no chance of pregnancy in your case and irregular periods due to harmonal changes are normal at your age.

I hope this information will help you.

Thank you.

She is feeling tiredness, lightheadedness or dizziness when standing after getting up from her bed and she is saying that her breasts are slightly swallon is this because of hormonal imbalance, she is getting worried to much. As i mentioned earlier normal blood flow(Periods) comes for 2 days then stops and again comes after 2 days. Altogether Blood came for 3 days.(Blood was there completely on her pad).

hi, thanks for your reply. You just check your blood pressure and haemoglobin( to rule out giddiness and tiredness). these symptoms could be due to hormonal imbalance also. these symptoms most likely due to hormonal imbalance, take iron tablet and multivitamins. hope found useful regards

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
