Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I had already put on braces when I was 13 years old, but they could not fix my tooth in proper alignment. After that, last year, when I was 20 years old, I found a slight color change in my upper central incisor and consulted a dentist. He said that my tooth was partially dead. And the very next incisor is also undergoing a similar case. He also added that it happened so, maybe because of the fault in the first dental treatment with braces or because of any mere childhood accident. I underwent root canal treatment for both upper central incisors. I also like to add that I have partially asymmetrical jaws and midline shifts for both the upper and lower teeth. I want to know how complicated my case is. How much time will it take to fix my problems?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I thoroughly read your query and understand your concern.

Your case is not so complicated. Nowadays, root canal treatment is so simple. I think your dentist could take two or three sittings to finish. One more thing I would like to add is that you should see a good orthodontist to discuss your shifted jawline and malocclusion. Depending on the severity of the case, it takes time. Some orthodontic treatment takes one and a half year, and some take more than two years. It depends upon various factors like age, bone density, type of malocclusion, etc. After an OPG (orthopantomography) and clinical examination, an orthodontist could explain it better. Probable causes are a history of injury and trauma. The probable diagnosis for your condition is malocclusion. The suggested treatment plan is orthodontic treatment.

Hope this has addressed your concern.

Thanks and regards.
