What causes morning sickness and cramps after a hysterectomy?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been experiencing morning sickness every day for the past two years, despite having had a full hysterectomy and not being pregnant. The area where my uterus used to be often cramps, giving me the sensation of being on my menstrual cycle. I am concerned about these ongoing symptoms and would like to know if there might be an underlying issue causing them. Please help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

I suggest you consider taking an abdominal ultrasonography which can help identify any underlying causes related to the abdomen, which may be contributing to your symptoms.

In the meantime, I would suggest you take the following medications:

  1. Tablet Rabeprazole 20 mg - Take one tablet before breakfast and dinner for 5 days.
  2. Tablet Ondansetron 4mg - Take one tablet before breakfast and dinner for 5 days.

Please refrain from taking any of these tablets if you have known allergies to them. Consult your specialist doctor, talk to them, and then take the medications.

Thank you.
