Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

When I chew anything hard, my jaw first starts paining, and then my temples. I have eaten only potatoes since childhood. I get exhausted very early. What to do?

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I went through your query.

Your symptoms seem to be part of the temporomandibular disorder (TMD). It is not as you say stamina problem. The cause of TMD can be stress, any bite problem, or various other reasons. I suggest you do an X-ray called OPG (orthopantomogram) to rule out dental causes. Along with that, please describe your symptoms in detail, and get a thorough examination done of all the teeth, and muscle function of your oral cavity. Through a process of elimination, the cause of your symptoms can be determined and then accordingly treated.

For the time being you can take a mild muscle relaxant to help relieve the symptoms along with a pain killer.

Please take advice from your general physician about the safety of this medicine in lieu of your asthma medications.

Hope it helps.

Thanks and regards.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
