Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 24-year-old male. I am six feet tall and I weigh 209 pounds. It is all about my body. I was a female looking boy with very soft body, less energy and not interested in sports. My arms are lean and soft as girls. I feel my bones are like females and not very strong, arms are not as big and strong as males. My muscles are less too. Why?

Kindly help

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

A thorough physical examination and a medical tests will be essential

Firstly, your lean body structure and soft musculature could be due to hormone levels, genetic predispositions, nutritional intake, and general activity levels. Investigation includes hormone levels, testosterone, estrogen, thyroid hormones, and growth hormones. 1. A lower testosterone level can sometimes lead to reduced muscle mass, softer body features, and lower energy levels.

2. Testosterone is important in developing male secondary sexual characteristics, muscle mass, bone density, and body hair distribution.

3. An imbalance in thyroid hormones can also affect your energy levels and how your body metabolizes nutrients. Growth hormone, which supports muscle and bone growth, must be checked.

4. Strength training, helps the bones to become denser and stronger. A bone density test, known as a DEXA scan, would be needed.

5. Protein is essential for muscle repair and growth, while vitamin D and calcium are critical for strong bones.

6. Exercise, resistance training, which includes activities like weightlifting or bodyweight exercises helps improve muscle tone, increase muscle size, and strengthen bones.

7. Cardio exercises do not contribute as much to muscle size or bone strength.

8. Genetics plays a role in body type and muscular composition. Some people naturally have a leaner or softer build, and muscle growth may require more targeted effort. See If these run in your family.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.
