Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
My grandmother had pain in her chest and hands. She is a heart patient. When she consulted a doctor, he gave her a Retelex injection for immediate recovery and kept her under observation for one day. I would like to know what this treatment is and what the recovery status is. Ten years ago, she had a severe heart stroke. Currently, she has done an ECG and a 2D echo.
Please help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
She has a heart attack, which is an AWMI (anterior wall myocardial infarction). This occurs due to a blood clot in a heart vessel, and an injection is given to dissolve those clots. Usually, the patients recover in three to four days if no complications occur. However, she should also undergo angiography and, if needed, angioplasty, which is the best possible treatment. All the medicines prescribed should be taken regularly, and you need to have a healthy lifestyle.
The doctor will prescribe all the necessary medicines, and you need to have a healthy lifestyle, like avoiding fatty, oily, and high-calorie diets. I suggest you do the following. You need to have a low salt diet and monitor your blood pressure regularly. If the blood pressure is persistently more than 140/90 mmHg, then you should be on medicines for it. Regular exercises like brisk walking and walking after recovery, according to her capacity, for at least 30 minutes a day and five days a week, will help. Take lots of green leafy vegetables, fruits, and fish once or twice a week, and avoid meat.
I hope this helps.
Do follow up whenever needed.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Thank you.
