Are nasal bleeding and dryness normal after an adenoidectomy?

Hello doctor,
My son had an adenoidectomy and ear tube insertion two years ago. He had been relieved from cough with extra care from dust and cold things. But now, for the past few days, his nose has been dry and bleeds with extreme dryness. I just want to know if this is anything serious or related to adenoid removal. And how do I know that ear tubes have been removed on their own? I can see some white thing in one ear and not in the other one. Kindly suggest what it could be. He is taking Salinase nasal drops.

Bleeding from the nose and dryness in your son’s nose are not directly related to his adenoidectomy but could be due to dry air, allergies, or irritation. Using a humidifier, saline nasal spray, and keeping him hydrated may help. If bleeding persists or worsens, see a doctor.
As for the ear tubes, they typically fall out on their own within six to 18 months. If you see a white thing in one ear, it could be the tube still in place or earwax. An ENT (ear-nose-throat) doctor can confirm if they have fallen out completely. If he has ear pain, discharge, or hearing issues, a check-up would be a good idea. I hope this helps you.
